The Lone Star Ride is currently on hiatus, traffic seems crazier than ever, and I acquired a different bike. Oh, and my shift key broke, so this post is harder to write than it should be.<br /><br />It's been warm as all sin. So much so in fact that Friday's Mass collapsed at the state capitol for a long breather about 10 minutes in. There was some rain, but that just served to make the heat just that much hotter.<br /><br />And I'd forgotten my water bottle.<br /><br />Drat.<br /><br />The desire for a Saturday night ride every week or two still lingers, so keep on the lookout for the needs-to-be-renamed ride on the horizon.<br /><br />An aside, but there's some cool people who play capture the flag at the capitol Saturday nights beginning around 10 PM or so. It's a lot of fun.<br /><br />Another aside: <i>The Dark Knight</i> is pretty astounding. Go see it in IMAX. The soundtrack is great, and holds up pretty well on its own as an instrumental album.<br /><br />Curious? It was a success in just about every respect. We had nine people turn out, and grabbed two joiners afterwards (allowing me to add the subheading next week: this ride goes to 11), and the route itself was nice and smooth (which I qualified as the <i>smoove movement</i>).<br /><br />I took a few pictures prior to our departure, but my camera is at another rider's house so it'll be a day or two before I can throw them up. Either way, expect next week to be another enjoyable jaunt through Austin's best maintained thoroughfares.<br /><br />The moonlight cruise is tonight. Hit the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge at 11.59pm and prepare to ride with a few hundred other rides underneath the full moon.
